Technical Considerations

BE ABSOLUTELY SURE BEFORE YOU ORDER

We do not operate an on-line shop, because there are so many     variables, when you design your Distribution Board to your own  specification. Generally speaking, if you order a Distribution Board, as opposed to separate items, the order would include an Enclosure, specific sizes of RCBOs and in the case of Compact RCBOs, the  special busbar sets for that size of enclosure. You may also need  extra items, such as Stand Off Frame, back Knockouts, Glands, etc.

LIVE & SBS AMD3 METAL ENCLOSURES

Possibly the widest range of sizes on the market, with 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 22 module options, plus a 24 module “double-decker”. All models start with ENC-, for example, ENC-12LM means a  LiVE  box with 12-modules, with the Main Switch occupying 2, leaving 10 usable ways. This is used for LiVE Standard RCBO boards. For    Compact RCBO boards, it would be an ENC-12LMC board, the C  denoting  a Compact version. The default position for the Main Switch is R/H, but you can specify a L/H switch.

DL COMPACT  RCBOs -  CRB SERIES

Decide which sizes (ratings) you need and how many of each size. Sizes available are 6A, 10A, 16A, 20A, (25A), 32A & 40A. The      standard stock item is a B curve, but we carry token stock of C curve in a few sizes. Please contact the Office for availability. They are all true 2-pole, 1-module devices, the same size as an MCB.

SBS  BUSBARS -  LIVE & NEUTRAL FOR COMPACT RCBOs

These special busbars provide connections to both LIVE and       NEUTRAL terminals of the Compact RCBOs. All busbar model numbers start with either BBL (live) or BBN (neutral) and the number    following should match the module size of the enclosure. This means a BBL-12R is required for an ENC-12LMC with a R/H switch. For a    L/H switch, it would be BBL-12L. It is possible to fit MCBs on the same DIN rail as Compacts, but please contact the Office for this option.

GLANDS, BACK KNOCKOUTS AND STAND OFF FRAMES

The best arrangement for fire containment, is to leave all 4 sides of the CU back box intact, by bringing all cables, including tails, through back knockouts. We can do insulated back knockouts for you and also fit a 16mm Stand Off Frame, so that all cables can route behind the back box. We can also provide various glands and grommets, if you decide to go that route.

BESPOKE ASSEMBLY DESIGN SERVICE

Although we do supply all our components as separate items on our    Invoice, we can and do ship the the components already assembled, if you wish us to, at no extra cost. Where the resulting Distribution Board, as designed by you, is not certified to BSEN61439-3, it should comply with BS7671:2008, AMD3, 421.1.201 and/or 133.1.3.
